The Concordia bats came alive Thursday afternoon as the Bears rolled to a 19-4 win over second-seed Winona State in the first round of the NSIC tournament in Wayne, Nebraska. The Bears had a season-high 25 hits in the game, with
Chris Duda going 4-6 with a grand slam and six rbi.
Concordia had ten players collect a hit in the game with seven players having at least two hits and five with at least three.
Greg Winegarden went 4-5 with four singles and four rbi and
Bobby Meier went 3-5 with a home run and three rbi.
Geoff Bray (right) improved to 7-2 on the season as he allowed four earned runs on nine hits with eight strikeouts.
Kirk Ingram pitched a one-hit ninth inning.
The Bears are now 18-10-1 on the season. They will play Wayne State tomorrow at 1:00 in the second round of the NSIC tournament.
