The concordia softball team earned a sweep on the road against upper iowa saturday afternoon getting a 7-1 win in game one and 1-0 shutout in game two with solid pitching performances.

kristen schmidt (left) allowed just two hits while striking out ten in the first game, while the concordia offense exploded for seven runs on 12 hits.
amanda yurek (right) continues to lead the team in hitting going 4-4 with two rbi and two runs scored in the first game.
nikki smith had a double, home run and two rbi also in the game.

mandy turba (left) got the win in the second game striking out nine in six innings of work, while schmidt got the save pitching a scoreless seventh inning.
kelly schwietz scored the bears only run in the game with a home run in the fourth inning. Yurek had the bears only other hits in the game, going 2-3.
with the wins, the bears improve to 15-8 on the season. Schmidt is now 8-5 with a 2.32 era, while turba is 5-3 with a 2.58 era. Yurek leads the bears offense with an impressive .466 batting average, with 34 hits, including 11 doubles, a triple and two home runs and a .726 slugging percentage.
