Paul, minn. Concordia also held the mustangs to their second lowest field goal percentage of the season, 29.1% as they hit just 16-55 from the field.

the bench effort was rounded out by sophomore guard jason birr's second consecutive stellar performance as he scored seven points while collecting a game-high eight rebounds to go with a pair of assists and a steal in 22 minutes.

the starting five, who accounted for 30 points collectively, was led by senior forward ty thomas and junior forward marlon walker who each dropped in eight points. Walker added six rebounds while thomas nabbed five.

the golden bears improved their season record to 12-0 when winning the rebounding margin as they pulled down 38 total rebounds to smsu's 35. They also doubled the mustang assist total by a 10-5 margin.

the mustangs only had one player score in the final 11+ minutes of play, their point guard undre ellis, who poured in a game-high 15 points and was the only player in the game to reach double-digits.

the bear defense put a blanket on the mustangs' top-two perimeter threats, holding matt fletcher and travis krenske to 4-14 shooting from three-point range. Fletcher entered play with 67 three's on the season at a 50.0% clip while krenske came in with 54 made three's at a 39.4% rate.

the bears, who have recorded back-to-back nsic wins, look to continue their solid play down the stretch and will travel to minnesota-crookston and bemidji state next friday and saturday.
