#20 wayne state (22-2, 11-0 nsic) went on a 10-0 run early in the second half and broke open a close game in rolling to a 85-61 win over the bears (15-9, 6-5 nsic) in conference action friday night at the gangelhoff center.

the game was tied 33-33 at the half and was tied 41-41 with 14:13 to go in the second half before the wildcats went on a 10-0 run over the next four minutes and outscored concordia 44-20 over the last 14 minutes of the game. Wsc shot a 10-14 (75%) from three point range and more impressively converted 25-28 (94.1%) from the free throw line.

the bears struggled from the field, making 21-66 (31.8%) and 14-27 (51.9%) from the free throw line. ashley smith led the bears with 14 points and eight rebounds, while katie laviolette was the only other bear in double-figures with ten points and four assists.

for the game, the bears were outrebounded 45-37. Wayne state was led by ashkley arndorfer with 21 points, while kristen humphries had 20 points and nine rebounds. Lauren gustafson had 13 assists in the win.

concordia will be in action again on saturday against southwest minnesota state, who suffered a 69-63 loss at winona state on friday night.
