The golden bears improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 102-79 victory over chadron state college at the valley imports classic in moorhead.
the golden bears got 69 points off the bench, including a game-17 by
craig heiman, followed by
mike cunningham with 14 and
chuol chany with 13 coming off the bench.
kyle marxhausen scored 12 and cortez forte had 10 as five bears scored in double-figures.
concordia scored the first point of the game on a free throw by marxhausen and finished the game with a pair of free throws by
mike cunningham. On the night, the bears converted 26 of 47 free throws on the night, setting a school record for most free throws attemped in a game, breaking the old record of 46 set against trinity bible in 1968.
the golden bears shot a sizzling .596 from the field (34-57) against .394 (26-66) for chadron state. Concordia scored 28 points off 22 eagles turnovers but committed 21 themselves, resulting in 26 chadron state points.
the bears also outrebounded the eagles 40-30 on the night, led by 8 for heiman.
chadron state was led by marcus ligones with 18, and kody christensen's 13 as the only playere to reach double-figures for the eagles.
concordia will host #19 minnesota state on tuesday, nov. 21st at 7:00 in the gangelhoff center.
