concordia junior hillary johnson (above) scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 66th minute to give the bears a 2-1 win over upper iowa. The assist went to nikki hertel as concordia improves to 6-8-1 (4-1 nsic) on the season.

concordia took the first lead in the 15th minute as freshman katie johnson scored on a 20-yard shot over the peacocks goalkeeper. It was k. Johnson's fourth goal of the season.

upper iowa started the second half with a flurry on the offensive end and tied the game in the 55th minute off a header on a corner kick that got over the head of csp goalkeeper keyton wheelock. Wheelock (left) would record four other saves in the second half and finished with five saves to record her second win on the season.

the bears finished with seven shots, four on goal, while upper iowa had 14 shots, six on goal. Cu will host conference-leader winona state on sunday, oct. 8th at 1:00.
