ashley smith scored 25 second-half points to help the bears overcome a 40-34 halftime deficit to defeat regis 91-84 in concordia's last non-conference action. With the win, the bears win their fifth straight and improve to 8-4 on the season.
the bears jumped out to a quick lead in the first half and led by as many as 13 at 26-13 at 9:50 when smith made a layup to score her only two points of the first half. Regis then went on a 18-4 to take their first lead at 31-30 of the first half. Regis pushed the lead to as many at nine at 43-34 with 19:20 in the second half.

the bears then went on a 9-0 run of their own to tie the game at 43-43 with 14:45 remaining in the game. After three ties, with the final tie at 59-59 at 8:53 concordia took the lead for good on five straight points by smith.
for the game, smith scored a team-high 27 points and went 7-14, 3-8 from long range and a school-record 10-10 from the free throw line. Behnke finished with 17 points and a team-high five rebounds, while kuklis scored 15 points on 6-7 shooting from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line.
the bears outrebounded regis 29-27 and outscored regis 36-18 in the paint. Concordia turned the ball over only nine times in the game.
concordia will open nsic play this weekend as they host bemidji state on friday and um crookston on saturday with both games beginning at 6:00 in the gangelhoff center
