Box Score No. 6 Concordia University (1-0) swept no. 11 Northern Michigan (0-2) 30-25, 30-24, 30-20 on Friday afternoon at the Minnesota Duluth Tournament in Duluth, Minn.

Senior Val Olson led the Concordia attack with 14 kills and a .444 hitting percentage, while juniors Megan Graham and Kelsey Kyro led the defensive effort with 17 digs and five blocks, respectively. Senior setter Cailin Terhaar racked up 45 set assists while recording seven digs and four kills, and junior Ashley Olson just missed a double-double with nine kills and 11 digs.

The Bears hit .319 as a team, led by junior Jessica Lucia's .519. In the third game, the CU defense held NMU to a .071 hitting percentage and .144 for the match.

Concordia faces no. 2 Truman State at 5 p.m.
