The Bears got a pair of 8-0 wins in five innings at the first day of the NSIC Crossover in Moorhead. They defeated Bemidji State and Northern State to improve to 30-12 (9-1 NSIC) on the season.
Against the Beavers, the Bears scored eight runs in the fourth inning. The had 13 hits in the game, including four doubles and a home run by Elizabeth Plante. Plante went 3-3 with 3 RBIs in the game. Mandy Turba came close to pitching a perfect game, striking out 12 batters and allowing no hits in the game. She also had no walks. The only Bemidji batter to reach base reached on an error.
In the second game against Northern State, Kristen Schmidt struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits. Tracie Enzler went 2-3 with two doubles and 3 RBIs, while Kristin Linell went 3-3 with a RBI and scored twice.
For the game, the Bears scored 8 runs on 12 hits, including five doubles.
Concordia will face UM Crookston and MSU Moorhead in the second day of the crossover.
