Concordia-St. Paul (12-6) recovered from their first back-to-back losses of the season in record-setting fashion, as they rolled past Trinity Bible College (13-9) 112-13 Thursday evening at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul, Minn.

Concordia was led by freshman Mary Schroeder, who had career highs of 20 points, six rebounds, and five steals on 9-12 shooting in 26 minutes of action.

Five bears joined Schroeder in double figures. Freshman Whitney Smetana had 15, seniors Heidi Gill and Kayla Christensen and junior Nakia Carlisle all had 13, and junior Ashley Smith had 10.

Freshman Megan Kirchenwitz was two points shy of her first career double-double, scoring eight points and grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Smetana also hauled in nine rebounds, while Smith and Gill had eight and seven, respectively.

Freshman Katie Laviolette also had a new career-high, dishing out eight assists, while senior Desirae Jones had six. Smetana filled the columns, as she also had a game-high four blocks.

The Bears set two new team records, shattering the former margin of victory mark of 77 (twice) with a 99-point margin of defeat. They surpassed their old mark of 33 assists by dishing out 38.

The Bears return to action Saturday, Jan. 29 when they travel to Winona State to take on the Warriors.
