The Golden Bears (12-5, 3-2 NSIC) fell at MSU Moorhead (6-11, 1-4 NSIC) 77-74, allowing the Dragons to hit 60.7 percent (17-28) from the floor in the second half.
The Bears outscored the Dragons 17-4 at the foul line in the second half and held a 23-5 advantage for the game, but it wasn't enough to put away a hot-shooting Dragon offense.
Senior Brian Jamros led the squad with 19 points, shooting 5-9 from the field, 3-5 from long range, and a perfect 6-6 at the line. Sophomore Marlon Walker came off the bench and added 15 points and six boards while shooting 4-4 from the field and 7-8 at the stripe. Senior Justin Vandenberg and junior RJ Allen added 14 and 13 points, respectively, in the loss.
The Bears did the job on the glass, outrebounding MSUM 37-30 for the contest, led by four players with six apiece (Walker, Allen, Kyle Marxhausen, and Aaron Ackerson).
Concordia-St. Paul faces Northern State (12-4, 4-1 NSIC) who had their seven-game winning streak snapped by Winona state at home in other NSIC action. NSU is tied for first in the league with Bemidji State, while the Golden Bears are in a three-way tie for third.
