#1 Concordia University (6-0) continued their hot start by beating #11 North Florida (3-2) 3 games to 2 and by beating co-host Regis University (1-4) 3-0 to advance to the championship bracket of the Metro/Regis Premier Tournament in Denver, Colo.
The Golden Bears began the tournament by losing the first two games to UNF, but they recovered to win the final three games to take the match, 23-30, 29-31, 30-22, 30-16, 15-12. Senior
Joy Wubben led the Bears with 24 kills and a hitting percentage of .512. Junior
Valerie Olson added 21 kills and posted a .395 hitting percentage. Junior setter

Megan Graham led the team with 23 digs.
The Bears recovered from their early scare by thumping Regis University 30-19, 30-26, 30-17 to earn a spot in the winners bracket of the tournament. Wubben led the team with 20 kills and a .545 hitting percentage. Terhaar served up 33 set assists, and sophomore
Jessica Lucia recorded 14 digs. The Bears hit .337 as a team and had 16 total team blocks.
CSP is back in action Saturday at 1:00 pm when they take on #2 UC San Diego in an early season showdown of the top two teams in the nation. The winner will advance to play in the tournament championship at 6:00 p.m. against the winner of the match between #4 North Alabama and #16 UM Duluth. The losers will face off in the third-place match to played simultaneously.
