After fouling off 12 balls and with two strikes against her, St. Cloud State junior center fielder Cally Stewart drilled a solo home run over the left field fence in the bottom of the fourth inning to lift the Huskies to a 1-0 victory over Concordia-St. Paul in the championship game of the NCAA DII North Central Regional Tournament at Claussen-Westgate Field in Omaha, Neb.
The game featured just five hits and no errors. St. Cloud State registering three hits and CSP registered two.
Senior Husky pitcher Nicole Webb, the tournament's MVP, struck out three Golden Bear batters and allowed no walks while improving her record to 29-6 on the season.
The Bears finished the season with a school-record 42 wins and four NCAA Tournament game wins in their first trip to the NCAA's.
