No. 4 Concordia University (30-2) defended their top-seed in the NSIC Tournament by defeating the no. 2 seed, Southwest Minnesota State (22-9), in four games, 24-30, 30-15, 30-20, 31-29 to capture the first-ever NSIC Volleyball Tournament championship title.

Cailin Terhaar were each named to the All-Tournament Team for the Golden Bears. Wubben led the CSP attack with 17 kills and Terhaar had 49 set assists.
Sophomore
Megan Graham led the defensive effort with 17 digs, while
Kelsey Kyro picked up seven total blocks, one solo and senior
Tia Lindberg added six blocks, two solo.
Four Bears had double-digit kills, Wubben with 17, sophomore
Jessica Lucia with 14, Lindberg with 11 and Kyro with ten. Kyro hit .500 and led the team in hitting for the second consecutive match as CSP hit .297 as a team, hitting .552 in the second game to recover from the first game's .097.
Megan Wendorff and Erin Contons led the way for the Mustangs, who snapped the Golden Bears streak of 50 consecutive games without a loss to conference opponents, dating back to a 3-2 win over Winona State last season in their final NSIC match. Wendorff had a match-high 18 kills while Contons pitched in a double-double with 17 kills and 11 digs.
Joining Wubben and Terhaar on the All-Tournament team were Wendorff and Contons of SW Minnesota State, Tina Lensing of no. 24 MSU Moorhead and Jacey Kuck-Schwarz of Wayne State.
The Golden Bears, ranked no. 1 in the North Central Region, will return to action next Thursday at a site to be announced Monday evening.
