Top-seeded no. 4 Concordia-St. Paul (28-2, 14-0 NSIC) swept the eighth-seeded Northern State Wolves (4-26, 1-13 NSIC) in the first round of the first-ever NSIC Volleyball Tournament, 30-23, 30-12, 30-20 Thursday evening at the Gangelhoff Center.

Joy Wubben led the Bears hit a match-high .485 with 19 kills. Sophomore
Ashley Olson racked up 20 digs on defense while pitching nine kills and senior
Tia Lindberg also had nine kills for Concordia. Wubben and Lindberg each led the team in defense at the net with seven total blocks.
The Bears out-blocked the Wolves 14.5 to 4.5 while out-hitting them .310 to a measley .061. The CSP defense limited NSU to just five kills in game two, as the Bears won the game 30-12.
The Bears advance to the semifinals of the NSIC tournament where they will take on the fourth-seeded Wayne State Wildcats at 7:30 at the Gangelhoff Center. In other semifinal action, SW Minnesota State, the second seed, will take on no. 24 MSU Moorhead, the third seed at 5:00.
