Amanda Yurek joined the Concordia softball staff during the 2016-17 academic year and works primarily as a hitting coach.

The 2006 NSIC Player of the Year and league home run champion was also a two-time All-Central Region First Team player as a Golden Bear, earning the honor from Daktronics (now D2CCA) in 2006 and from the NFCA (coaches) in 2007. She was a three-time All-NSIC First Team performer (2005, 2006, 2007) and was an NSIC All-Tournament performer in 2005.

The four year starting infielder was a strong third baseman hitting in the middle of the lineup for Concordia teams that combined to produce a 157-83 (.654) overall record, 43-19 (.694) NSIC record including three NSIC Tournament crowns, two trips to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and one regional championship for a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight.

Yurek started 231 of the 240 games during those years, hitting a career .331/.394/.506 (229-692) with 51 doubles, five triples, 20 home runs, 120 RBIs and 128 runs while fielding the hot corner at a .961 clip. She only struck out 84 times in 692 at bats and holds the career records for doubles, games played and started and ranks second in career total bases (350) while ranking highly in a number of other statistics.

In her 2006 NSIC Player of the Year season, Yurek slugged a school record 126 total bases and 20 doubles, her 77 hits rank second in team history while her .676 slugging ranks third and her .412/.456 average/obp rank fourth in a season. She delivered nine home runs while scoring and driving in 38 runs that year.

The Cretin-Derham Hall graduate and St. Paul native graduated from Concordia in 2007 with a degree in criminal justice and has pursued her career in law enforcement with Anoka County.
