Cordell Smith locks up his second career Male Athlete of the Week honor, but the first as a wide receiver. He earned his first Male Athlete of the Week nod last year as a basketball player and will have a chance to do it again after next Sunday's football game when his senior basketball season will begin immediately.

The wide receiver still has another game to play as a junior on the football field next Sunday, though, and last Saturday he put up his best game of the season with five receptions for 102 yards including two second quarter touchdown receptions. He had touchdown grabs of 14 and 37 yards to bring the Golden Bears within two scores at the break in a high scoring game at the Metrodome. He also had a 15-yard punt return in the game for 117 all-purpose yards.

Smith leads the Golden Bears with eight total touchdowns (seven receiving, one punt return), and also leads the team in receiving yards with 483 at 17.9 per catch.
