For the first time since the Concordia Athletes of the Week have been selected, the Male Athlete of the Week award goes to an offensive lineman from the football team.

Senior right tackle Steven Davis persevered through numerous injuries on Saturday and maintained a 91.2% grade while playing all 68 snaps at Upper Iowa. He played a sack-free football game for the sixth time in as many games in the 2013 season and has only allowed a half sack in his entire career as the Golden Bears right tackle. He's the leader of an offensive line that's allowed only three total sacks which ranks fifth in the nation.

Despite the injuries, Davis was still springing blocks that allowed the Golden Bears to get down to the five yard line with three shots at the end zone to win the game in the final seconds at Upper Iowa (although the team fell short in the loss).

He's been named the team's Offensive Lineman of the Week three times this year and was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the team this week for the first time. He graded above 90% for the season as a sophomore and a junior and has been steadily in the mid-80%'s as a senior with multiple game grades in the high 80%'s before this week's 91.2% rate.
