Nic Cass became an All-NSIC performer when he took second place in the 800 meter run at the 2013 NSIC Outdoor Championships held in Sioux Falls, S.D. Cass turned in a time of 1:56.39. He was just .21 seconds shy of becoming a conference champion in the event. He did actually finish first in the prelims with a time of 1:53.94 which was a season-best and only .16 off his PR time set during the 2012 outdoor season. He was the only 800 meter runner to break 1:54.00 in the prelims or finals. He also anchored the 4x400 meter relay team that finished 11th with a time of 3:31.79, a 2.5 second improvement from the indoor time.
