Freshman Matt Spier was named to the All-Tournament team at the NSIC Championships after finishing in fifth place breaking 80 in all four rounds, with his lowest round coming on Saturday (third round) where he carded a 2-over 74. Spier's 310 (+22) left him six shots back of Kowan O'Keefe of Minot State who took the individual honor. Spier's 74 was tied for his third lowest of his young career.

Spier started his career with nine straight rounds under 80 and overall has turned in sub-80 rounds 17 out of 18 times. Spier is the sixth ranked golfer in the NSIC. Spier turned in one sub-par round on the season, carding a 69 at the MWSU Central Region Invitational where he finished in ninth place.
