Freshman Rachel Gray led the way, finishing second after shooting a 144 while setting a competitive course record on the gold tees at The Preserve on Rathbun Lake by shooting a 70 (-2) in the first round. Gray’s round of 70 was also a new school record and just the fourth par or better round in team history.

She backed up her first round with a solid round of 74 (+2) on day two. Gray’s round of 70 was a new program school record, and only the fourth round under par turned in by a women’s golfer in the history of the program.

Her 144 individual score was also a new program record, as she shot par for the 36-hole tournament.
