Freshman forward Kionda Nicks had her first taste of NCAA Tournament action last Friday and delivered one of her better performances of the season.  Nicks scored 12 points on 6-11 from the field, grabbed six boards and dished out a pair of assists.  Eight of those points were scored on key buckets early in the second half to keep the Golden Bears in the game before Augustana pulled away.  Nicks, a presence on the defensive end, also blocked three shots in the game.

The game was Nicks’ sixth scoring in double figures and ninth with at least three blocks.  She finished her freshman season averaging 4.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.1 steals per game.
