Sophomore Nic Rudolph entered the weekend with a personal record time of 2:38 in the 1000 meter run. He topped that mark by three seconds in the preliminary race on Friday to earn a trip to the finals on Saturday at the 2013 NSIC Indoor Championships.

In the finals, Rudolph ran an even faster time by two seconds, setting a new PR at 2:33.67 to place fourth in the conference. His race scored five points for the men's team at the league championship meet. His former PR team prior to the weekend would not have scored, and Friday's preliminary time would have scored one point as his top career performance was a difference maker for the team.
