The Northern Sun's assist leader, Rachel Hansen boosted the Golden Bears with a 13-to-1 assist-turnover ratio over the weekend to lead the team to key wins over #8 Augustana and Wayne State. The wins, bolstered by the play of the team's floor general point guard, put Concordia in sole possession of the NSIC South Division and Overall leads. She also averaged 11.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in the victories.
On Friday against Augustana, she scored 10 points with seven assists, adding three rebounds and a steal. On Saturday against Wayne State, she finished with 12 points, six assists (no turnovers), five rebounds and two steals while playing all 40 minutes.
She's scored 10-plus points in five straight games, dishing out six or more assists in each of those games as well.
On the year, Hansen is averaging 5.7 assists per game, nearly a full assist more than the next player in the Northern Sun and seventh among all Division II women's basketball players.
