Kayla Koenecke earned All-Tournament Team honors at the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships after leading the six-time national champion Golden Bears to three impressive victories, notching double-doubles in each match.
Koenecke started the weekend with the second highest dig total of her career, posting 20 against Wingate. She also added 12 kills on 31 attempts (two errors) for a .323 attack percentage.
In the semifinal victory over BYU-Hawaii, Koenecke was lights out. She tallied a career-high 23 kills on 55 attempts with just one error for a .629 clip. Adding to the stat line were 15 digs, four assists, three service aces and a block.
To cap the championship run, the Delano, Minn. native registered her third double-double of the weekend and team-leading 13th of the season. In the epic come-from-behind, five-set thriller against Tampa, Koenecke totaled 20 kills on 51 attempts (six errors) for a .275 percentage, along with 15 digs.
For the weekend, Koenecke went 55-for-117 with nine errors on the attack for a .393 rate. She averaged 4.2 kills per set and 3.8 digs. Koenecke also added six service aces and three blocks.
