Kayla Koenecke played a key role in clinching the Golden Bears’ 10th consecutive NSIC regular season title last week while helping the team to a 3-0 week. The outside hitter committed only two attack errors in 71 attempts, while collecting 42 kills for an average of 4.2 per set (10 sets). She led the team with 15 kills and a .520 attack percentage against Minnesota Duluth, posted a .636 attack percentage on 14 kills against Sioux Falls and followed that up with a game-high 13 kills and .542 clip at top-tanked SMSU.
Further proving her all-around abilities, Koenecke collected 22 digs along with eight assists and two blocks in the three matches.
At the end of the regular season, her .408 attack percentage is second in the league (including all matches played), slightly behind teammate Cassie Haag (.411). In NSIC-only action (20 league matches), she's the league leader in hitting at .426 while no one else is above .400 (Haag is second at .398).
Four Golden Bears rank in the top-6 in the NSIC in hitting percentage in conference play as Concordia hit .359 as a team with the next closest team hitting .282 (SMSU).
