Young represented the Golden bears in the Herschel Neil Decathlon and had a career-best performance in a fourth place finish in the heptathlon. She shattered the school record in the heptathlon with a total of 4163 points. The previous school was 3531 points which was set by Sarah Deutsch in 2006. Young's performance was a well rounded effort as she set PR's in six of the seven events. Young scored highly in the 200m with a time of 27.06 seconds, good for 707 points. She also brought home 630 points with a time of 16.71 seconds in the 100m hurdles.
