Whiting was named the Central Region Tournament Most Outstanding Player as she averaged 20.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the three wins against #2 Harding, #8 Central Missouri and #7 Emporia State.
After scoring a season-low three points against Harding on Friday, Whiting exploded for a career-high 32 points, including 24 in the first half, in the win over Central Missouri. She hit 12-19 from the field, 2-2 from three and 6-6 from the free throw line while grabbing seven boards.
She followed it up with a 26-point performance in the championship game with Emporia State on 8-13 shooting and 10-14 from the charity stripe.
The weekend propelled her into a class by herself in Concordia program history as she broke the 600-point barrier for the first time and has now scored 641 points on the year and 1,471 in her career.
