ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul track and field teams opened up the outdoor season on beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Hamline Invitational with a combined nine top-5 and 15 top-10 finishes on the day.
 
The women's side was especially impressive as they grabbed eight of the nine top-5 and 12 of the 15 top-10 finishes on the day.
 
After spending much of the indoor season trading the high jump record with Kalle Burney, Gretchen Feilen came within a quarter inch of Burney's outdoor record set last year by clearing 5'3.00" and taking second place. Feilen added another top-5 result in the pole vault as she took fifth with a height of 10'11.75".
 
One of the athletes to finish ahead of Feilen in the pole vault was Marianna Kramer. Kramer grabbed second place by clearing 11'11.75" in the event. The team took home another second place finish in the 4x100m relay as Gloria Williams, Erika Shady, LaKeya Rudolph and Wakpor Ighovojah combined for a time of 48.92.

The 4x400m relay team of Erica Young, Erika Shady, Wakpor Ighovojah, and Leah Amundson came away with a time of 4:03.09 which was good for fourth place.
 
Ighovojah added a third place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.20 seconds while Williams took fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.59.

Hannah Gustafson placed second in the shot put with a throw of 42'5.25".
 
Caleb Troe gave the Golden Bears a school record performance on the men's side in the 5000m. His time of 15:17.30 surpassed Collin Bredesen's mark of 15:18.90 set back in 2004.

Tyler Naumowicz picked up the lone top-5 finish for the men in the 400m hurdles. Naumowicz cruised to fifth with a time of 56.62 seconds.
 
Joining Naumowicz in the top-10 on the men's side were Benjamin Allen and Josh Johanson. Allen took sixth in the 1500m with a time of 3:57.49 while Johanson finished seventh in the 400m with a time of 51.09 seconds. Allen also finished 11^th in the 800m with a time of 1:56.52.
 
CSP is back in action next weekend for the MIAA vs NSIC Showdown.
