Richard is recognized for his superb athleticism in basketball and baseball as he was a four-year starter and Most Valuable Player in both sports in 1972. He was NAIA All-Conference playing baseball in 1973. His strong leadership was also evident in his being named captian of the baseball team 3 years and captain of the basketball team 2 years. Richard is a 7th grade science teacher at the Clintonville Public Schools in Clintonville, WI.
