Joe was a four-year letterewinner in basketball and football and played on two conference championship football teams. He still holds three school records- Most Pass Reception Yards (206, vs. Marantha, 1990); Most Kickoff Return Yards in a season (562, 1990) and Most Punt Return Yards in a season (231, 1989). He was the team's Most Valuable Player in 1991 and 1992.
