ST. PAUL, Minn. - On Tuesday during the team's visit to the Governor's Residence,
Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed Tuesday, January 24, 2017 as Concordia University Women's Volleyball Day in Minnesota.
During the visit, Governor Dayton spent time visiting with the team over brunch at the historic residence, in its 106th year. The Governor was able to spend time in small groups visiting with the team before presenting head coach
Brady Starkey with an Official Proclamation commemorating their ninth NCAA Division II National Championship in the past 11 years.
In the proclamation, Governor Dayton stated, "The Concordia University women's volleyball team is a source of great pride for Minnesotans, serving as exemplary role models for the many girls and young women who participate in athletics and competitive sports in programs across the state."
Governor Dayton, a former United States Senator, is Minnesota's 40th Governor.
