BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) released their first weekly release of the 2017-18 basketball season and Concordia's Anna Schmitt was named the South Division Player of the Week. Schmitt tallied her 1,000 career point in their game against Pittsburg State and averaged 26.0 points per game in the opening weekend.

- Scored her 1,000 point in season opener, becoming the 28th Golden Bear to ever do so

She shot 63 percent over three games - Cassie Askvig averaged 17.3 points and 9.0 rebounds, hitting 8-of-18 trey attempts in three games. She had a double double in the opener with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Askvig added 19 points and eight rebounds against Washburn - Lauren Rotunda averaged 7.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. She had 13 points and 11 rebounds in the Washburn game
